All Weather Arun Class Lifeboat  
'Roy & Barbara Harding' on its arrival to Castletownbere - October 1997

           

Following years of fund raising and lobbying by the local community and Sheila O'Driscoll in particular, October 1997 saw the arrival of its very own Lifeboat - The Arun Class 'Roy & Barbara Harding'.  The crew is comprised of 18 members with Coxwain Tony O'Sullivan at the Helm.  The Hon. Secretary is Mr. Donal O'Driscoll and the Fundraising Committee is piloted by Sheila O'Driscoll.  A weekly Lotto Draw is run together  with Co-Action Beara  and various functions are held throughout the year to help raise funds for this worthy cause.
