Welcome to the Beara Info website. This site was started up as a project for Beara Action Group - through their Development Officer Mary Martin-Sullivan - with FAS grant-aid. However, this grant was withdrawn by FAS to fund their Social Economy Programme before the project was fully completed. Mary has since continued this website - especially the 'Beara News' section of it, on a voluntary basis (hobby) - because of the positive and appreciative emails sent from Beara People throughout the world. Beara Action Group helped to facilitate this by having the Beara Notes from John Murphy typed up in their office each week. Currently, the whole lot is done by Mary herself when she can fit it in with her busy work schedule..
